Our Purpose
Johnson County Recent Arrests is a private reference site built to make official custody and arrest-record sources easier to understand. It organizes links to the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office, Johnson County Jail roster, dated criminal complaints, Iowa Courts Online, IowaVINE, the Iowa Department of Corrections, and appropriate federal locators. The goal is navigation and context. Records remain with the public office or outside service that created and maintains them.
What We Publish
Our editorial material explains the difference between a fresh booking, current jail custody, release, a criminal complaint, a court disposition, state prison custody, and federal detention. Those stages are often confused. Johnson County’s public roster, for example, is a changing custody tool rather than a permanent case archive. The site hosts no inmate roster, arrest record, court file, or booking-photo gallery.
Official sources come first. A linked news report or private search tool may be useful for context, but it does not replace the Johnson County Sheriff, an arresting police department, the court, Iowa DOC, BOP, or ICE. An arrest and charge are accusations. Every person is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
Independence and Limits
This operation is privately owned. It is not part of Johnson County, the State of Iowa, the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office, Johnson County Jail, any city police department, Iowa DOC, or a federal agency. We cannot confirm whether someone is in custody, arrange release, change a record, accept a public-record request, provide legal advice, or act for a government office.

How Sources Are Chosen
County and state sources are favored because they control the underlying records. Core references include the Sheriff’s roster and Records Division, Iowa Courts Online for filed cases, IowaVINE for covered custody notices, and Iowa DOC’s offender search for state custody or supervision. Federal custody requires the correct federal locator. Each source has its own scope, update cycle, access rules, and privacy terms.
Links are described narrowly. If Johnson County does not publish a strict 24-hour feed, the content says so. If the current roster shows no public photo column, that observation is not stretched into a claim that no photograph exists. This records-focused approach avoids turning allegations into entertainment.
Search Partners
